The harmonic pedal, invented by Denis de La Rochefordière, is not the same as the 4th pedal in Fazioli's longest grand. Pianist Georges Pludermacher has recorded many CDs using Blüthner and Steinway pianos with this pedal. How to use it? Pludermacher demonstrated five harmonic possibilities and also his application in a Schubert sonata movement.
